Lasy and Brighton Pebbles
Every year, each Mooncup team member is given a share of the Mooncup funds to donate to a charity of their choice. Lasy Lawless, Mooncup’s Financial Director, explains her choice here:
“Brighton Pebbles is a small parent led community group for disabled children and their families. They are particularly welcoming to children whose challenging behavior makes accessing mainstream activities difficult, if not impossible. Most of the children have severe or profound learning difficulties, autism and associated challenging behavior, requiring 1:1 full-time care. This means that families can experience high levels of isolation as it is difficult for them to take part in normal activities.
Pebbles arranges days out at weekends and during school holidays as this is the time the families experience the most difficulty. They don’t receive any statutory funding and therefore rely on grants and fund raising activities within the group. I’d like to help them achieve their big dream in 2015”.
