Eowyn and Devon Rape Crisis

Every year, each Mooncup team member is given a share of the Mooncup funds to donate to a charity of their choice. Eowyn Towers, Digital Media Manager, explains her choice here:

“I’ve chosen Devon Rape Crisis as my charity this year, who provide phone, email and face-to-face support for women who’ve experienced sexual violence throughout the whole county. They need funding to develop their services to both girls aged 13-18, and boys and men – they recognise that males can be targets for sexual violence as well: “we of course recognise that the impacts of sexual violence on the lives of men and boys are no less devastating and we believe all survivors of sexual violence deserve specialist support”. A self-proclaimed feminist organisation, Devon Rape Crisis Service’s aim is to provide ‘Dignity, Hope and Justice’ for survivors of sexual violence, and with 22% of women in the UK experiencing sexual assault as an adult and 5% of women experiencing rape, yet only 6% of rapes and sexual assaults resulting in a conviction in court, this is a cause well worth supporting.”
