Kath and Nepal Earthquake Appeal
Every year, each Mooncup team member is given a share of the Mooncup funds to donate to a charity of their choice. Kath, Campaigns and Marketing Manager, explains her choice here:
“On Saturday 25 April a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal. It severely shook the lives of at least 5.3m people, with thousands reported dead and many left homeless. My donation is going to The Disasters Emergency Committee’s Nepal Earthquake Appeal. The Disasters Emergency Committee is an umbrella organisation which launches and coordinates responses to major disasters overseas, uniting the work of many great aid organisations. Natural disasters like this can’t help but shake a piece of each of us- I have family in Nepal at the moment who are thankfully safe, and the region is in part of the world that has gifted me many a wonderful memory- I really hope the donation does its little bit to help. “
