Is the Mooncup tested on animals?

The Mooncup menstrual cup has been registered by the Vegan Society since 2010. This indicates that the Mooncup contains no animal ingredients and has never been tested on animals. The Vegan Society Trademark holds very strict standards in relation to animal testing. Only manufacturers who have not tested their products or ingredients, or requested their testing, are able to trademark their products.

The Vegan Society will not trademark products that have either a fixed or rolling cut-off date; to be trademarked, products must not have been tested at any time. The development and manufacture of the product and its ingredients must not involve, or have involved, testing of any sort on animals conducted at the initiative of the manufacturer, on its behalf, or by parties over whom the manufacturer has effective control.
